Restrictions on Entry into Japan

Updated on March 3rd, 2022 As from March 1, 2022, for new entry for short-term stays (3 months or less) for commercial and employment purposes and new entry for long-term stays, will be allowed in principle to newly enter Japan if they have been issued a visa based on the prescribed in the immigrant health confirmation system(ERFS) by the receiving organizations located in Japan. For details, please refer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website. On/After March 3, 2022, France is no longer designated as a "Country subject to quarantine accommodation waiting". As a result, voluntary quarantine at home, etc., will be changed as follows. Persons entering Japan from countries/regions other than region designated as requiring quarantine at government-designated accommodations (including those entering or returning from France on/after March 3, 2022). Those who have received three doses of vaccine: You will not be required to wait at home after entering Japan. Those who have not received 3 doses of vaccine: In principle, you are required to wait at home for 7 days. However, if the result of a voluntary test taken on or after the third day after arrival in Japan is negative, you will not be required to continue to stay at home. Persons entering from countries/regions designated as requiring quarantine at government-designated accommodations. Those who have received 3 doses of vaccine: In principle, they are required to stay at home for 7 days. However, if the result of a voluntary test taken after 3 days of entry into Japan is negative, you will not be required to continue to stay at home. Those who have not received three doses of vaccine: You will be required to wait at the accommodation designated by the quarantine station for three days, and if the result of the test taken at the accommodation is negative, you will not be required to wait at home after leaving the accommodation. FAST TRACK AT JAPANESE QUARANTINE

As of 9th March, Fast track will be available at quarantine upon arrival in Japanese 5 international airport (NRT,HND,KIX,NGO,FUK). Fast Track is an optional service to handle some quarantine procedures in advance, before you enter Japan, using the MySOS app on your smartphone. What to prepare.

  • Smartphone/device with MySOS app installed
  • Passport number
  • Vaccination certificate (Optional) (Government requirements)
  • Test certificate (Less than 72 hours before departure)

Mobile app installation

At present, all entrants to Japan (including Japanese nationals) are required to install an app on their smartphones to ensure that self-isolation period at home or other accommodation after entry into Japan is carried out. You will be required to use this app to report your isolation status and health condition on a daily basis during your self-isolation period. You can report the test result via app. And the notification of the decision to shorten the self-isolation period will also be sent to you within the app.

Mandatory submission of inspection certificate

If you do not have a valid COVID-19 certificate, you will be denied boarding by the direction of the Government of Japan. Customers who enter or return to Japan are requested to prepare a certificate in advance. Valid Certificate format recommended by Japanese government Effective from entry on or after March 19, 2021, all persons who return to or enter Japan from abroad, regardless of the country or region in which they are staying and nationalities must provide a negative certificate of covid-19 inspection written in Japanese or English that was conducted within 72 hours prior to departure. If you are unable to submit an inspection certificate, you will not be allowed to enter Japan based on the Quarantine Law. (After March 9, 2022 at 00:00 am (JST), Nasal Swab is added to the list of valid sample. Nasal Swab is valid when the test method is Nucleic Acid.) The valid methods of COVID-19 inspection: Nucleic Acid Amplification Test - PCR - Polymerase chain reaction - (RT-)PCR - Reverse transcription PCR (real-time (RT-)PCR/Q-PCR/Fluorescence-PCR/Multiplex-PCR) - LAMP (Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification) (RT-LAMP) - TMA (Transcription Mediated Amplification) - TRC (Transcription-reverse transcription concerted reaction) - Smart Amp (Smart Amplification process) - NEAR (Nicking Enzyme Amplification Reaction)(e.g. ID-NOW) Other - Next Generation Sequence - Quantitative Antigen Test* (CLEIA/ECLEIA) *Not a qualitative antigen test. Submission of a Written Pledge

You will be asked to pledge not to use public transportation , to stay at home or in accommodation, to save and present your location information, and to install a contact confirmation application etc. during your self-quarantine period after entry. If you violate the pledge, in addition to being subject to suspension measures based on the Quarantine Law, you may be subject to the following (1)If you are Japanese, your name and information that may contribute to the prevention of the spread of infection may be publicized. (2)If you are a resident status holder, your name, nationality, and information that may contribute to the prevention of the spread of infection may be publicized. MANDATORY E-QUESTIONAIRE BEFORE DEPARTING FOR JAPAN

Customers departing to Japan on/after December 13, 2020 need to fill in an e-questionnaire before departure. Upon arrival in Japan there are limited possibilities to do this. Please make sure you fulfill this e-questionnaire before departure.

VISIT JAPAN WEB SERVICE

As of December 20, 2021, a new online service has been launched that enables customers traveling internationally to Japan (including Japanese nationals returning to Japan) to perform all the immigration procedures (including quarantine, immigration and customs declarations) in one go upon entering the country.For details, please see the Digital Agency website (Japanese page).

NEW CONDITIONS OF ENTRY IN FRANCE AS OF 12 FEBRUARY, 2022

Following the publication of a decree dated 11 February 2022, the French authorities have changed the entry conditions into France as from 12 February, 2022.

  • For fully vaccinated customers: presentation of a complete vaccination scheme is now sufficient for entry into France for passengers from Japan(Green country)
  • For non-vaccinated customers: presentation of a PCR test less than 72 hours or an antigenic test less than 48 hours is required prior departure for passengers from Japan(Green country)
  • You may be asked to fill the dPLF(EU digital passenger locator form) before boarding for France.

  As of February 1, the French authorities have defined the new terms of the complete vaccination scheme. Customer aged 18 years must have received an additional dose of messenger RNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) 9 months after their last dose for their vaccination regimen* to remain recognized as complete. Customers not meeting the above criteria, must follow the non vaccinated travel conditions, (they are considered to have an incomplete vaccine scheme). The booster dose can be : - a third dose for 2 dose vaccine customers - a second dose for customer vaccinated with Janssen or having been infected by Covid-19 and one dose of vaccine. This does not apply for customers transiting in France with a new flight abroad. *Vaccines recognized by France are those validated by the European Medicines Agency: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria, Covishield, R-Covi, Fiocruz), Johnson & Johnson and Novavax. For passengers who have received a vaccine not authorized by France but approved vaccine recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), passengers are fully vaccinated 7 days after receiving a dose of Moderna or Pfizer

THE VACCINE PASS IN FRANCE

Updated on March 8th, 2022 French government announced to suspend the vaccine pass as of 14th March22. According to the announcement, the vaccine pass – currently required to access a wide range of venues including restaurants, bars, discotheques, cinemas, theatres, concert halls, stadiums, fairs and exhibitions, interregional transport, etc. – will be suspended from March 14th.The measures are subject to change. COVID-19 Testing at Paris Airports

Passengers departing from Paris-ORY and Paris-CDG can perform an antigenic or RT-PCR test at the airport screening centers in addition to the testing centers in the city. At the airport, passengers will get the result (in French and English) within 48 hours after an RT-PCR test is taken and within one to two hours for an antigenic test. To be tested, passengers must have a valid air ticket and must make an appointment through doctolib. It is your responsibility to meet the entry requirements and to bring the correct travel documents with you, including a Covid-19 test if your destination requires it. To check the requirements of the country of arrival, you can consult the websites Traveldoc, Paris.Aéroport.fr and France gouvernement. (To fly safely, and if it's possible, we recommend that you come to the airport with your PCR test already done at a testing center in the city.)
